They are listening...but can they understand?
EPSR recognises many corporations ‘ need to hire a significant number of highly qualified and competent individuals in Australia with, nevertheless, limited and often disadvantageous oral and aural skills in English. This consequently causes a great deal of stress for both employers and their employees in the workplace and forms a handicap to those employees ‘ career ambitions and progress. Our speech performance can often play a decisive and definite role in our everyday business transactions and not granting those who need it the chance to improve it could be detrimental to their professional development.
EPSR provides effective solutions based on the client’s industry and tailored to the learner’s linguistic needs. The lessons are specifically designed from the special language or “register” of the learner’s professional role to ensure rapid and almost instant progress in their oral and aural performance.
After designing the lessons, EPSR runs in-house workshops each containing a maximum number of four learners to ensure each learner’s receiving a considerable amount of attention from the trainer. The number of workshops and hours needed will be advised following the submission of a statement in which the client is required to point out the following information:
- The title of the learner’s role in the corporation
- The learner’s job description
- The tasks in which the learner is most frequently orally engaged
- The linguistic content of the above tasks if applicable
- The audience with whom the learner is orally engaged
- The linguistic background of the learner
- The time or financial limitations that need to be taken into consideration by EPSR
